Specialized Support for Your Journey

Every person's path to healing and growth is unique. At Cureton Counseling and Consulting, I provide individualized therapy services for adolescents and adults who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives. My approach is collaborative, strength-based, and tailored to meet you exactly where you are in your journey.

How we'll work together

Change happens best in an environment of trust and understanding. That's why our work together is built on collaboration, not direction. You're the expert on your own life—I'm here to help you navigate toward the changes you want to see.

Initial Consultation

We'll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to counseling. This is your opportunity to share your story, ask questions, and determine if we're a good fit for working together

Ongoing Sessions

Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly, though frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and preferences. Sessions are typically 50 minutes and provide a consistent space for exploration, growth, and healing.

Collaborative Approach

You're the expert on your own life. My role is to provide support, tools, and insights while you determine the pace and direction of our work together.

Individual Services

Individual Therapy

One-on-one counseling sessions designed around your specific needs and goals

Individual therapy provides a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Together, we'll work to understand the patterns and challenges that are impacting your life, while building on your existing strengths and resilience.

What to expect:

• Initial assessment to understand your goals and concerns

• Collaborative treatment planning that puts you in the driver's seat

• Evidence-based techniques tailored to your specific situation

• Regular check-ins to ensure we're moving in the right direction

• A therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and understanding

Ideal for: Anyone seeking personal growth, working through specific challenges, or wanting to develop better coping strategies for life's difficulties.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Specialized support for processing difficult life experiences

Trauma affects everyone differently, and healing happens at your own pace. Using trauma-informed approaches, we'll work together to process difficult experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable. The goal isn't to forget what happened, but to reduce its power over your present life.

My approach includes:

• Creating a sense of safety and stability in our sessions

• Understanding how trauma shows up in your daily life

• Developing healthy coping strategies and self-regulation skills

• Processing traumatic experiences when you're ready

• Building resilience and post-traumatic growth

Trauma therapy can help with: Childhood trauma, relationship abuse, accidents, loss and grief, PTSD, complex trauma, and other life-altering experiences that continue to impact your well-being.

Addiction & Substance Use Support

Compassionate care for breaking free from destructive patterns

Recovery looks different for everyone, and there's no shame in seeking help. Whether you're struggling with alcohol, drugs, or other addictive behaviors, we'll work together to understand what's driving these patterns and develop practical strategies for change.

Our work together focuses on:

• Understanding the underlying causes of substance use

• Identifying triggers and developing healthy coping mechanisms

• Building a support system for sustainable recovery

• Addressing co-occurring mental health concerns

• Creating a life you don't need to escape from

This service supports: Those ready to reduce or eliminate substance use, family members affected by addiction, people in early recovery, and anyone struggling with compulsive behaviors that no longer serve them.

Life Transitions & Personal Growth

Guidance through major life changes and periods of uncertainty

Life transitions—whether chosen or unexpected—can leave you feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about the future. Whether you're facing a career change, relationship shift, loss, or any other major life event, counseling can help you navigate these changes with greater confidence and clarity.

Areas we might explore:

• Career transitions and workplace stress

• Relationship changes and family dynamics

• Empty nest syndrome and midlife transitions

• Grief and loss of all kinds

• Major moves or lifestyle changes

• Identity exploration and personal growth

Benefits include: Greater self-awareness, improved decision-making skills, enhanced resilience, and the confidence to move forward with purpose during uncertain times.

Adolescent Counseling

Specialized support for teens navigating the challenges of growing up

The teenage years bring unique challenges, from academic pressure and social dynamics to identity formation and family relationships. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where adolescents can explore their feelings, develop healthy coping skills, and build confidence for their future.

Common areas of focus:

• Anxiety and depression in teens

• School-related stress and academic pressure

• Peer relationships and social challenges

• Family conflict and communication issues

• Identity exploration and self-esteem

• Risky behaviors and decision-making

My approach with teens: I meet young people where they are, using age-appropriate techniques that respect their growing independence while providing the support and guidance they need.
